Postmodern Femininity

Happy Thursday to everyone!.
Wanted to make this post extra special, because I'm gonna go in a short vacations, coming back until sunday!
And this drawing is extra special for me. The image that got me inspired can be found here, is from an editorial for Harper's Bazaar UK featuring the striking Ashley Smith.
As you can see I wanted to mix it a bit, so I though into fusion the idea of ethnic culture with modernity, and I came up with this, a girl that have Molas tattooed in her skin.
Being from Panama, Molas are a very important artistic expression and I just love all the patterns and all the different designs that people come out with. Is a very important part of my culture.
So I'm sure all of you have something like that in your own countries, a magnificent, ancestral and atemporal expression of culture.
Waiting to see all your  responses,  really hope you all like it :)
Have a great weekend everyone!
Besos.

Cat girl

Morning to you all!,
This drawing is something I did a while ago, the idea of the character was evolving while painting it, so not really someone in  mind.
But now every time I see it, I get the whole catwomen vibe, you know with the tights and the heels! hehehe. And I remember I read somewhere that catwomen was going to be our Devil wears Prada girl Anne Hathaway. So how do you think she would be?. I'm not a huge fan of Batman, but I enjoyed the movies, and I'm a sucker for wardrobe design, actually is one of my favorites things, I can go hours watching movies just to see how the character wardrobe develops through the film :). I think it would be interesting to see how her character would develop, so well, lets wait and see!.
Hope you like it!.

Red head beauty

There is something truly beautiful in photography, specially when a single picture is able to reflect something beyond the image itself.
That magical feeling is easy to get at seeing Laura Taylor photos, and every picture for me was more inspiring than the other. So I was brave and tried to illustrate one of her photos, I love how it turn out, but I love even more the photo.
Hope you all like it!
